Mike has 30 years of experience in the insurance benefit industry. He received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and Masters coursework at the University of Toledo.  He holds the Certified Health Consultant designation from the Krannert School of Business and the National Blue Cross Association, as well as the Health Insurance Associate and Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow designations. He began his career as an account representative for a national health insurer and has held mid and senior level managerial positions with regional property and casualty agencies, consulting firms, and insurers. Further he has taught insurance courses throughout the Wisconsin Technical College system and has been a guest speaker at numerous events. Mike founded his first benefits firm in 1998 leading to Employers Benefit Group in 2006.

Mike believes the EBG partnership can offer employers and individuals the ability to access benefits through their property and casualty agents as well as directly through the Employers Benefit Group. “The cost of healthcare is a front and center topic with virtually everyone. Bringing together new products, plan designs that match consumer needs and some common sense in regard to why we use our benefits can lead to substantial value. We work with agents, business owners and individuals in establishing that value.”

Mike’s interest remains focused on furthering EBG’s success and continuing to develop strong relationships with clients.   He loves family, fishing, outdoors, sports, travel and writing.

He has been married for 29 years and has five children.
